Walt Disney Pictures has released the teaser trailer for “TRON: Ares,” starring Jared Leto, Evan Peters, Jodie Turner-Smith, Greta Lee, Cameron Monaghan, Sarah Desjardins, Gillian Anderson, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo Castro, and Jeff Bridges. The film will be released in theaters on October 10th.
Plot Synopsis: “TRON: Ares” follows a highly sophisticated Program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings.
What do you all think of the trailer? As many have pointed out already, I think the movie looks visually spectacular and could be a Best Visual Effects contender later this year, while the score being done by Nine Inch Nails (aka. Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross, essentially) will likely be an awesome replacement for the memorable work Daft Punk brought to “Tron: Legacy” (the most memorable component of an otherwise mixed film). Joachim Rønning is an interesting choice to direct this based on his previous two films, “Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil” (Once again, visually spectacular but dramatically flawed) and “Young Woman And The Sea,” (highly underrated and worth checking out), and I’m curious to see what he’ll bring to the story, which will hopefully combat today’s issues with A.I. in a relevant manner that lies on the right side of history as opposed to in favor of it but what do you think, though?
