Trailer – “The Crow”

Lionsgate has released the trailer for Rupert Sanders’ remake of “The Crow” starring Bill Skarsgård, FKA twigs & Danny Huston. The film will be released in theaters on June 6th.

Plot Synopsis: Soulmates Eric Draven (Skarsgård) and Shelly Webster (FKA twigs) are brutally murdered when the demons of her dark past catch up with them. Given the chance to save his true love by sacrificing himself, Eric sets out to seek merciless revenge on their killers, traversing the worlds of the living and the dead to put the wrong things right.

What do you all think of the trailer? Despite the poor song selection and some underwhelming comparisons to the 1994 original, this trailer still somewhat surprised me in that it actually made me want to watch this. Maybe it’s because I’m a fan of Skarsgård, or perhaps it’s because I like this story. The original “Crow” film starring Brandon Lee in his final film role will be hard to top, but this trailer’s tone, brutal, gory kills, and hard edge have intrigued me. I’m not expecting it to be a surprise hit like the original film, nor do I expect it to be better. Still, I’m at least hoping it won’t be an embarrassment and can properly convey why a remake was necessary other than adding a few extra CGI bits to the story’s supernatural elements. What do you all think, though? Please let us know your thoughts in the comments section below or on our Twitter account.
