A24 has released the official trailer for Jeremy Saulnier’s “Slayground,” starring Cory Michael Smith, Chase Sui Wonders, Sophie Wilde, James Badge Dale, Stanley Simons, Stephen Root, Chris Sullivan, Young Mazino, Imogen Poots, Matty Matheson, and Macon Blair. The film will be released in theaters on January 29th, 2027.
Plot Synopsis: Scare-actor “Metal Mike” Graves wakes up in a haunted attraction surrounded by the dead bodies of his co-workers with no memory of how they got there. As a state-wide manhunt closes in, he races to uncover the truth – even if the trail leads straight back to him.
What do you all think of the trailer? From the jump, the atmosphere presented in this film is eerie. The premise is killer, but it’s the ominous touches in the set design that really catch the eye. Not to be confused as a remake of the 1983 British crime thriller of the same name, “Slayground” looks wholly original, metal, and quite frankly, badass. The cast is fairly stacked, full of exciting rising stars and reliable character actors. After making the Emmy-winning “Rebel Ridge,” all eyes were on Jeremy Saulnier to see what he would do next. Judging from this trailer, it seems like a new, gritty horror film is right up his alley.
