Trailer – “Juror #2”

Warner Bros. has released the trailer for Clint Eastwood’s “Juror #2,” starring Nicholas Hoult, Toni Collette, J. K. Simmons, Chris Messina, Zoey Deutch, Cedric Yarbrough & Kiefer Sutherland. The film will have its world premiere at the AFI Film Festival and receive a limited release in select theaters in North America on November 1st.

Plot Synopsis: “Juror #2” follows family man Justin Kemp (Hoult) who, while serving as a juror in a high profile murder trial, finds himself struggling with a serious moral dilemma…one he could use to sway the jury verdict and potentially convict—or free—the accused killer.

What do you all think of the trailer? This honestly looks like Clint Eastwood’s best film in years. The trailer has a tense, dark atmosphere that reminded me of the “Gone Girl” trailer. Eastwood has been very hit or miss at this latter stage in his career, but at 94 years old, there’s a tremendous amount of respect and goodwill going toward what could be his final feature film (or not–we should never count this guy out). The screenplay is by Jonathan Abrams (“Escape Plan”) and Eastwood’s creative team includes such frequent collaborators as director of photography Yves Bélanger, production designer Ron Reiss, Oscar-winning editor Joel Cox (“Unforgiven”) and editor David Cox, BAFTA-nominated costume designer Deborah Hopper (“Changeling”); Mark Mancina created the original score. Warner Bros. premiering it at the AFI Film Festival, where “American Sniper” and “Richard Jewell” had their world premieres bodes well for the dramatic thriller. Could Nicholas Hoult crash the Best Actor race? Could we finally see Toni Collette receive nomination #2 (see what I did there?)? Whether it’s an awards film or not, I think we’re all just excited to see what Eastwood delivers, for better or worse. What do you all think?
