Warner Bros. Discovery has released the trailer for Kevin Costner’s epic two-part Western saga “Horizon: An American Saga” starring Costner, Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Giovanni Ribisi, Jena Malone, Abbey Lee, Michael Rooker, Danny Huston, Luke Wilson, Isabelle Fuhrman, Jeff Fahey, Will Patton, Tatanka Means, Owen Crow Shoe, Ella Hunt & Jamie Campbell Bower. Chapter 1 will be released in theaters on June 28th and Chapter 2 follow soon after on August 16th.
Plot Synopsis: Families, friends, and foes discover the lure of the Old West as the Civil War divides the country.
What do you all think of the trailer? I’ve never watched a single episode of “Yellowstone,” which seemed to give Kevin Costner a newfound level of popularity in the modern age. His love for the Western genre has been well-documented, and to see him be given the opportunity to bring his passion project to the big screen, as opposed to television, in what looks to be such a grand way is nothing short of miraculous in this day and age. I suppose Warner Bros. Discovery also hopes the “Yellowstone” audience will show up and make this a financial success. The sweeping vistas of the Old West have a romanticized quality about them, which Costner beautifully captures here. I’m not entirely sure what the story is from this trailer alone, but it certainly looks pretty and features many well-known actors I’m a fan of. The trailer’s tone is strange, opting for an epic that feels self-important and reverent for a genre many seem to think is dead, but this may renew people’s interest in the traditional Western.
