For this week’s second podcast review, I am joined by Josh Parham & Giovanni Lago to review and discuss the latest film from Ali Abbasi, “The Apprentice,” starring Sebastian Stan, Jeremy Strong, Maria Baklava & Martin Donovan. After having its world premiere at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, Abbasi’s “Rise of Donald Trump” biopic drama sat without distribution, got stuck in legality issues, and came under heavy scrutiny from supporters (and yes, even opposers) of Donald Trump, leaving us to wonder if the film would ever be released. Well, now, it’s finally playing in theaters from Briarcliff Entertainment, and we are here to give you our SPOILER-FILLED thoughts on the performances, writing, direction, awards season chances, and implications the film may or may not have on the election and how the outcome of the election may influence whether audiences even watch the film. Thank you for listening, and enjoy!
