The line-up has been finalized for the Orizzonti Short Films International Competition of the 83rd Venice International Film Festival (September 2nd – 12th, 2026) of La Biennale di Venezia, directed by Alberto Barbera. The selection presents the world premiere screenings of 13 short films, competing for the Orizzonti Award for Best Short Film, assigned by the Jury of the Orizzonti section, and the world premiere screenings of 2 short films, out of competition.
The official screenings of the selection will take place on September 10th and 11th, 2026. In total, La Biennale received 2,500 short films, 205 of which were from Italy.
