SAG-AFTRA announced the launch of “I Am An Actor: A SAG-AFTRA Podcast,” a new series that expands the beloved Actor Awards signature tradition into the podcast space. The show will be hosted by Actor Awards Showrunner and Executive Producer Jon Brockett and acclaimed actor Jamie Chung (“Dexter: New Blood,” “Lovecraft Country,” “Big Hero 6”), and produced in partnership with female-led digital production company SickBird Productions.
Using the iconic Actor Awards “I Am An Actor“ opening as a launchpad, the podcast creates a long-form, intimate, loosened-up conversation that goes beneath the surface to uncover the stories audiences have never heard. Funny, revealing, and irreverent, “I Am An Actor” combines the personal warmth of a chat between peers with the depth of a craft-focused masterclass.
Each 40–60 minute episode features a single guest, kicking off with the actor telling their own “I Am An Actor” story. Conversations will explore what an actor’s being means to them, tracing the full arc of their career from early beginnings and breakthrough roles to personal milestones and their most current work.
“I’ve spent 20 years in a room full of actors, and this is my chance to finally get them to talk to me,” said co-host and Executive Producer Jon Brockett.
“I’ve admired so many of these performers for years. Getting to sit down with them to dive deeper into the craft, the moment they fell in love with it, and what keeps them going is the part of this job I could do forever,” said co-host and Actor Jamie Chung.
Guests for the debut season include Quinta Brunson (“Abbott Elementary”), Sofia Carson (“The Life List”), Sherry Cola (“Shrinking“), Colman Domingo (“Michael“), Phil Dunster (“Rooster“), Tony Hale (“Toy Story 5“), Mariska Hargitay (“My Mom Jayne,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”), Justin Hartley (“Tracker”), Kate Hudson (“Running Point”), Chase Infiniti (“The Testaments“), Katherine LaNasa (“The Pitt“), Michael Peña (“All Her Fault”), Carrie Preston (“Elsbeth”), Timothy Simons (“Nobody Wants This“), Jackie Tohn (“Nobody Wants This“), and Kerry Washington (“Imperfect Women”) among others.
The production team for the podcast includes Executive Producers Jon Brockett, Jade Watson, and Diona DaCosta, Talent Producer Sarah Cowperthwaite, and Producer Sarah Stoecker.
I Am An Actor: A SAG-AFTRA Podcast launches on May 7th, 2026, and is available on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts. New episodes every Thursday.
